How to use StockForge - Location Stock

StockForge - Location Stock helps shoppers understand where an item is available when you have multiple locations (warehouses or retail stores). You add a theme block to your product page, and the app shows stock by location for the selected variant.

What it’s for

  • Reduce “do you have this in store?” questions.
  • Set expectations before checkout (pick-up, local delivery, or in-store shopping).
  • Keep control of privacy: show numbers or only stock status.

Before you start

  • Locations must be active in Shopify (Settings → Locations).
  • Your products must have inventory tracked per location.
  • You need an Online Store 2.0 theme to add the app block in the theme editor.

Quick setup (5–10 minutes)

  1. Install the app from the Shopify App Store.
  2. In Shopify admin, open StockForge - Location Stock and go to the locations settings screen. Choose what customers see (numbers vs. status), which locations are visible, and how they’re ordered.
  3. Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize, open a product template, and add the Stock by location block.
  4. Save and preview a product page to confirm it looks right.

Common settings

1) Show numbers or status

If you don’t want to reveal exact inventory, use status mode (In stock / Low stock / Out of stock). The low-stock threshold is configured in the theme block settings.

2) Choose visible locations

You can hide locations you don’t want to show, and optionally hide locations that are out of stock.

3) Order locations

Order locations manually or automatically (by name or by highest stock, depending on plan).

4) Location details (optional)

Add store-specific information like a map link and weekly opening hours. If enabled, customers can click a location to see the details in a modal.

Plans and billing

Plans are managed inside Shopify. Some features may be limited depending on the active plan. Refer to the Shopify App Store listing for current pricing and trials.

Troubleshooting

  • I can’t add the block: confirm your theme is Online Store 2.0 and you’re editing a product template.
  • No stock shows: confirm the product tracks inventory and has inventory assigned to locations.
  • Wrong locations: check which locations are marked as visible in the app settings.
